Teach2Learn

The Teach2Learn – Tools for Teaching Independent Learners project (Project No. 2022-1-AT01-KA220-SCH-000088183) was implemented over 34 months (October 2022 – July 2025).

It aimed to address educational challenges in partner countries, with a particular focus on improving the reading comprehension of 2nd to 4th graders from minority, migrant, or non-official language backgrounds.

The project’s priorities focused on the continuous professional development of teachers, aiming to enhance teaching quality and enable educators to better support students in overcoming learning difficulties and low levels of basic skills, thereby helping to prevent early school leaving.


Project activities

The Teach2Learn – Tools for Teaching Independent Learners project (No. 2022-1-AT01-KA220-SCH-000088183, duration 34 months: October 2022 – July 2025) developed and implemented a series of activities designed to strengthen reading comprehension teaching in multilingual classrooms:

  • Development of an assessment tool to identify teacher training needs related to reading comprehension instruction.

  • Creation of a structured training programme to enhance teachers’ competences in improving the reading comprehension of pupils in grades 2–4.

  • Design of an interactive digital platform providing practical, user-friendly resources that engage teachers, parents, and students in collaborative learning.

  • Production of a video database showcasing real classroom practices and demonstrating how the project’s resources can be applied effectively.


Project objectives

The Teach2Learn – Tools for Teaching Independent Learners project (No. 2022-1-AT01-KA220-SCH-000088183, duration 34 months: October 2022 – July 2025) aimed to:

  • Equip teachers, parents, and migrant students with innovative methods, interactive resources, and pedagogical tools based on gamification to support the teaching and learning of reading comprehension skills.

  • Address learning difficulties and reduce early school leaving by fostering inclusive, engaging, and effective reading instruction in multilingual primary classrooms.


Target group

  • Primary school pupils in grades 2–4 from minority, migrant, or refugee backgrounds, or whose mother tongue differs from the official language of instruction and who face challenges in reading comprehension.

  • Teachers working with pupils in grades 2–4 who come from multilingual or migrant contexts and encounter significant reading barriers linked to linguistic and cultural diversity.

  • Parents of migrant or multilingual children in grades 2–4, supporting their involvement in improving their children’s reading skills and learning motivation.

  • Educational stakeholders such as national education inspectorates, school leaders, educators, education experts, and education departments engaged in promoting inclusive and effective literacy practices.
